EDIBLE COPRA/GRADE A

  • Edible Copra is the most superior type of copra, premium quality, among a variety of existing copra types. To produce edible copra, selected coconuts must undergo a stringent sorting process.

Product characteristics:
a. Small and uniform size
b. It weighs between 0.6 and 0.8 kilograms.
c. White-colored
d. Thick coconut flesh
e. No holes
f. Smooth coconut skin with no blisters

REGULER COPRA/GRADE B

Regular copra is a type of copra that is white to brown in color. The meat of the coconut is thicker than that of grade C copra. However, holes are occasionally discovered in regular copra.

As long as the holes in the copra can be tolerated, it is classified as regular grade; however, if the holes are large and tend to break, it is classified as random copra.

a. Brown or black in color
b. Different sizes
c. Some have holes, others break
d. It occasionally smells like smoke (smoked copra)
e. Prices are generally lower.
f. Usually a sort of regular copra
